What inspired your vision for your wedding day? Do you have a theme or color palette (I use this to bring stuff for shooting details!) How do you envision your ideal wedding day?
Our color palette is focused around a dark burgundy/cabernet color with accents of blush and sage green. Our bridesmaid dresses are Cabernet from Azazie and the men’s suits are navy blue. I have a mood board too I can send it to you! The vision has obviously changed, but I want it to be elegant, warm, and just a beautiful little party where we’ll be able to celebrate and just enjoy the day with our closest family and friends.
How did you meet?
We met on OkCupid back in 2015, about 2 months before I moved to Pittsburgh. We chatted on and half but things more or less fizzled out (he ghosted me haha). Then once I finally did move, one day I was hanging out with my roommate and she asked me to show her how to use Tinder. As I was swiping through I saw Josh’s face pop up. I told my roommate that I’d been messaging him and that he’d ghosted me, and I made a bet with her that if I swiped right that he would send me a text within 5 minutes. It only took 2 🙂
Tell me about the proposal!
It was my birthday weekend and Josh told me that he booked us a room at the Hotel Monaco and that we were going out on Friday night but was refusing to give me details. We went to The Summit (the location of our 2nd date and our favorite bar for drinks) and then we walked down to Grandview to see the view. When we found an overlook that was empty Josh got down on one knee and that was that! Then we cried a whole bunch and some nice strangers took our picture and when we got back to our hotel the front desk host gave us a free bottle of champagne!
What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
I think it was coming up with a vision and an event that really felt exciting and felt like me. It’s been a bit tricky because that vision has had to shift a lot, but I still am really excited. I also really loved wedding dress shopping and I’ve loved getting to plan things and share this experience with the girls in my bridal party.
