He chartered a helicopter to fly over Pittsburgh (Beth’s hometown). Then, when we got back and landed, he grabbed the door for me as I got out of the helicopter and proposed. The best part was he made a video of the whole thing, from buying the ring, to the helicopter ride, to proposing. He even had a song with it that matched parts of the video.
What is some advice you’d give to a newly engaged couple about the whole wedding planning process?
If you are not looking forward to planning a wedding then get a wedding planner. I think planning it on your own when you don’t want to, really takes away from the whole day. Start planning early, read wedding vendor contracts before you sign them and ask questions about the contract, and do what you want. Truly do what you want! Don’t have a big wedding if it’s not what you wanted.
What inspired your vision for your wedding day? Did you have a theme or color palette? How did you envision your ideal wedding day?
Colors are Navy, grey, steel/slate blue, and blush. Bridesmaids will be in steel/slate blue, groom will be in navy, groomsmen will be in grey, and accent colors of blush. There was only one thing I knew I wanted for my wedding and it was a paper flower wall/back drop for pictures. My theme changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Once it changed to the house and outside I went with a backyard/garden party type of theme. With twinkle lights, mason jars, flowers, and slightly outdoorsey (since well it is going to be outdoors).
