How did you meet?
We were both friends with our officiant, Trenholm (tren-uhm). I worked with him at Whole Foods, Chris lived in the apartment next to him and was looking for a side job, so naturally, Tren got him a job working with me in the Bakery at Whole Foods. He also apparently sent us a text that said the exact same thing enticing us to text each other and hangout. we did. first date: a stroll through Allegheny cemetery. Modern love story.
Tell me about the proposal!
We had talked about getting engaged, but on a Saturday morning–in our pajamas, drinking coffee–Chris called me upstairs and proposed in our bedroom. I was totally surprised! He wanted to propose Saturday morning so we had all weekend to enjoy it.
What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
Buying dried flowers and making the floral arrangements/decor myself.
What inspired your vision for your wedding day? Do you have a theme or color palette? How do you envision your ideal wedding day?
My vision has changed over the last few months, settling on a pretty good representation of me–sorry chris. It’s moody fall, with a base color palette of ivory, black, and amber with pops of gold, burgundy, amethyst, emerald, and navy (dark jewel tones) and heaps of moss. I apparently love moss. It’s amazing what you learn planning a wedding.
What is the most anticipated moment of your wedding day? If you could only choose one photo to walk away from your wedding day with, what would it be?
Our first dance. You took such beautiful photos of us dancing in the street, i would love to capture a good moment of that first dance.
