The online dating app Bumble. Our first date was at PNC Park for a Pirates/Cubs throwback jersey game (we didn’t know which team was which). Mind you, it was like pulling teeth to get the guy to come out. He kept telling me he was “so busy” traveling with work and such. I told him that I wasn’t asking him to marry me. It was a simple date to grab a drink. …. he did show up with Danish chocolates though.
Tell me about the proposal!
We closed on our first house together on October 9th. He sent me away to get lunch (and toilet paper). When I returned, he met me on the front porch and told me to put the bags down. He grabbed my hands and started talking about our future together. (He can be very long winded, so at one point I didn’t think that that was actually the moment it was going to happen.) But, he got down on one knee, pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him! Shortly after I accepted his proposal, he told me “Let’s eat, we’ve got a truck to unload!”
What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
Cake tasting! Because who doesn’t like free cake samples?!
What inspired your vision for your wedding day? Do you have a theme or color palette? How do you envision your ideal wedding day?
No theme, just a color palette … royal blue because it is one of the bride’s favorite colors and pops of orange because 1) the groom comes from a family of Clemson University Tigers and 2) the first flower he ever got me was an orange lily.
What is the most anticipated moment of your wedding day?
